Phil Hazeldine has worked in catering since leaving school at 18 and is passionate about it. He has been catering in the Nelson region for over 20 years. He is one of the most experienced marquee chefs in Nelson, and has catered for parties of up to 1,000 people.
Phil’s experience means that he has worked in many venues, so he knows what setup will work best for functions in any location. Experience and planning ensure that your event goes smoothly.
Demonstrating his passion and innovation for food, Phil has won a few awards over the years. In 1998 he won NZ Best Pie Maker, and 12 years ago he came runner up in All Clubs NZ Chef Competition. More recently, Phil is involved with Fish & Game, and has helped develop a game bird night that is held in August.
Keeping up to date with food trends is important to Phil – he loves to create his own dishes. If he’s not in the kitchen, you can find Phil outdoors. He loves to hunt, gather food and fish. Drag racing and old school muscle cars are also a passion and Phil has played soccer for most of his life.
